Itinerary For 5-Day Tour From Agadir to Zagora Desert
Day 1: Agadir- Agadir Airport pickup
Welcome to Morocco. Upon arrival at Agadir Al Massira Airport, you will be greeted by your professional driver who will assist with your luggage and provide a comfortable transfer to your hotel or riad in Agadir.
This first day is designed to be relaxed, giving you time to rest after your journey and gradually adjust to your surroundings. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy a peaceful walk along Agadir’s scenic beachfront promenade, where palm trees line the shore and the Atlantic Ocean stretches into the horizon. Alternatively, you may explore the city’s lively markets, where stalls display local handicrafts, spices, textiles, and traditional Moroccan goods.
In the evening, you may choose to enjoy a welcoming Moroccan dinner featuring regional specialties or simply watch the sunset as it colors the ocean in warm golden tones. This gentle introduction prepares you for the cultural discoveries that await during the tour.
DAY 2: Agadir- Taroudant- Taliouine - Zagora Desert
After breakfast, the journey toward the Zagora Desert begins, passing through the fertile Souss Valley and its scenic landscapes. A stop in Taroudant reveals its ochre ramparts, lively souks, and authentic charm, often earning it the name “Little Marrakech.” The route continues to Taliouine, Morocco’s saffron capital, where you can learn about this prized spice and local Berber traditions.
As the scenery shifts from green valleys to arid desert, you arrive in Zagora, the gateway to the Sahara. Here, a camel trek takes you across peaceful dunes at sunset, offering breathtaking views. At the desert camp, enjoy a traditional dinner, music by the fire, and a night under a star-filled sky in a comfortable nomadic tent.
Day 3: Zagora - Return To Agadir
Early in the morning, you will wake up to witness one of the desert’s most unforgettable moments—the sunrise over the dunes. As the first rays of sunlight illuminate the sand, the colors shift between soft gold and pink tones, creating a breathtaking natural spectacle.
After breakfast at the camp, you will begin the journey back to Agadir. Traveling through the varied landscapes of southern Morocco once again, you will notice the striking contrast between desert plains, mountain slopes, and fertile valleys.
Along the route, several stops will be made for photos, rest breaks, and lunch in a traditional town. These pauses allow you to appreciate the scenery and experience more of the local culture.
By the evening, you will arrive back in Agadir, where you can relax at your accommodation and reflect on the memorable experiences of your desert adventure.
Day 4: Transfert To Agadir Airport
Wake up early to admire the spectacular sunrise over the dunes, a peaceful moment when the desert glows with soft golden light. After breakfast and returning to Merzouga by camel, the journey continues back toward Ouarzazate.
The route passes through Rissani, a historic trading center, before continuing through the beautiful Draa Valley, the longest valley in Morocco, known for its palm groves, ancient kasbahs, and traditional villages.
You will stop in Agdez to enjoy views of the valley and its agricultural landscapes before continuing to Ouarzazate. Dinner and overnight stay will be arranged in a traditional riad.
DAY 5: Ouarzazate– Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
On the final day, depart from Ouarzazate and visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most remarkable historic villages.
This fortified settlement, built using traditional earthen architecture, once served as an important stop along the ancient caravan routes that crossed the Sahara. Walking through its narrow alleys and climbing to its upper terraces offers beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
After lunch, continue your journey across the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi N’tichka Pass. The spectacular mountain scenery provides a memorable end to your adventure before arriving in Marrakech, where you will be transferred comfortably to your hotel or riad.
