You then arrive at the famous Aït Ben Haddou, a historic fortified village recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After exploring the ksar, the trip continues to Ouarzazate, with time for lunch (not included).
In the afternoon, you travel through the Skoura oasis and the Valley of Roses, known for its kasbahs and fragrant rose fields, before reaching the Dades Valley in the evening. Dinner and overnight are arranged locally.
Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, the road winds through the Dades Valley, offering impressive viewpoints over rugged rock formations. The trip continues to Todra Gorge, where sheer canyon walls rise dramatically above a narrow river, ideal for a short walk and photographs.
Continuing east, you pass through desert villages and palm oases such as Touroug and Tinjdad, stopping for lunch en route. By late afternoon, the first dunes of the Sahara appear as you arrive in Merzouga.
Here, you set off on a camel trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes, enjoying the silence and colors of the desert as the sun sets. Upon reaching the camp, you’ll enjoy dinner, traditional Berber music, and a night beneath a star-filled sky. A 4×4 transfer to the camp is available if preferred.
Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Ziz Valley – Azrou – Fes
After an early start to watch the sunrise over the Sahara dunes, enjoy breakfast before returning from the desert camp to Merzouga by camel or 4×4. The trip then continues north toward Fes.
The first stop is Rissani, a historic trading center and former caravan hub, where you can glimpse its lively traditional market. From there, the road follows the scenic Ziz Valley, famous for its vast palm groves stretching along the riverbanks, offering excellent photo opportunities.
As the landscape changes, you enter the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing through Azrou and its cedar forests, home to the native Barbary macaques. After short stops along the way, the drive continues toward Fes, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening. Dinner and overnight are arranged locally.
