The first stop is the Skoura Oasis, a fertile area dotted with date palms and traditional kasbahs made from mud brick. Here you will visit the historic Kasbah Amridil, one of the most iconic and best-preserved kasbahs in southern Morocco.
Continuing toward Kalaat M’Gouna, located in the Valley of Roses, you will pass fields irrigated by seasonal rivers. This region is renowned for its cultivation of Damask roses and the production of natural beauty products made from rose petals.
By late afternoon, you will arrive in the peaceful Dades Valley, a region known for its dramatic rock formations and Berber communities. Surrounded by impressive landscapes, you will spend the night in a charming traditional riad where dinner will be served.
Day 2: Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert Camp
After breakfast, you will explore the spectacular dades gorges, where steep canyon walls and winding mountain roads create an impressive natural setting. A short walk through the valley provides the opportunity to appreciate the unique geological formations.
The journey then continues toward the remarkable todra gorges, one of morocco’s most famous natural sites. Here, towering limestone cliffs reaching up to 300 meters form a dramatic canyon carved by the todra river. You may take a relaxing walk along the river while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of this extraordinary place.
After lunch and several scenic stops, the road leads through erfoud, a town known for its fossil workshops and date markets, before reaching merzouga, located at the edge of the sahara desert.
In the late afternoon, you will begin your camel trek into the vast dunes of erg chebbi. As you climb the dunes, you will witness the magical desert sunset as the sand turns golden and amber.
Upon arrival at the desert camp, you will be welcomed with traditional mint tea. Dinner will be served beneath the open sky, followed by berber music and drumming around the campfire. The evening ends with a peaceful night under the stars in the silence of the sahara.
